You don't have to be in crisis to call.
Mindi grew up in a small Kansas town in a household that looked normal from the outside but was volatile and unsafe. Her parents were angry and deeply traumatised themselves, repeating patterns from their own childhoods. She felt scared every day, experienced physical and sexual abuse, and learned early that perfectionism and achievement were survival tools. Teachers became her refuge. She sang ABBA into her stereo, imagining a music producer would rescue her. What kept her going was not just hope, but the refusal to fully close her heart, even when everything inside her wanted to.
As an adult, her body kept score. For 12 years, Mindi experienced chronic pain, fatigue, migraines, and food sensitivities that no doctor could diagnose or fix. She was failing at work, her relationships were strained, and she was barely holding on. The turning point came when she hit total collapse. A shift in mindset, focusing on what she wanted instead of what was wrong, led her to a healer who could finally help. She discovered that her body held the trauma her mind had buried, and that healing meant reconnecting with physical sensation, not just talking through her past.
Today, Mindi is a trauma therapist and coach who works with others to process what their bodies carry. She has two daughters she adores, work that fulfils her, friendships that nourish her, and a relationship with her husband built on real connection. The small things other people took for granted, dinners with friends, yoga, laughter, taste delicious to her now because she longed for them for so long. She knows the worst is behind her, and she's living proof that it is possible to come through.
